The following are the staff members of our Kawerau team;
Zania is of Tuhoe/Ngati Awa descent.
Born and raised in Te Teko with her older sister and three younger brothers. Zania has been living in Kawerau for 5 years with her partner who share a loving blended family of six kids between them.
Zania has worked all her life in and out of Kawerau. Having previously worked at Tu Wharetoa Ki Kawerau as a Youth worker then transferring over to Opotiki to work at Whakaatu Whanaunga trust as A Youth mentor. Following this Zania returned to Kawerau to work at Kawerau Putauaki Primary School as a teacher aide working with the year 5-6 students for reading, writing and maths and was also the sports co ordinator/coach.
Zanias passion is Social Work and Suicide Prevention. She has gained her level 6 in Suicide Prevention and social work. Zania was also selected as a recipient of a one year scholarship to complete and graduate in Tariana Turia Suicide prevention program “Te Whakaauruora” which see's a Maori Holistic view of Suicide Prevention.
Zania is humbled to have this opportunity to work with youth and their whanau in the Kawerau Community where she aims to try and share her life skills with them to support them in making a difference in their own lives.
